Traffic.. World's day to day Menace

My only wish this evening was to get back at home as soon as possible. Feeling happy secretly inside, I stepped out of the office with a longing to relax after the heavy work load I'm occupied with these few days (actually they are not over yet!)

I walked along the payment to where I usually stand and wait for my normal transport mode arrive at my footstep. I had been early, so I waited a while looking at the passing by. Five minutes went. Another 10 accompanied. No transport to be seen. People one by one are gathering near the road looking far beyond..

One lady behind me said something faintly that instantly caught my attention. The Road Has Closed! In a split second all my happiness turned into nightmare. The road entering into our city limits had closed for Security reasons. Best part was we didn't have any clue on when they will open the road for normal Traffic.

After waiting for almost one hour traffic started to flow in and i had a glimpse of my transport in far distance in that dim light of setting Sun.

Its true that all concerns should be given for the security of others BUT closing down a road for just nothing won't achieve anything for anybody. Just the people who are waiting eager to go home beore it gets dark, suffers.

Self Actualization

Under Maslow's Theory, there are few things in every human life which will realize the fulfillment or the ultimate achievement of a lifetime. For some being a millioneir would achieve that. Some might earn a Doctrate or one might even free a bird from a cage and achieve that fulfillment.

All humans run in a race of trying to fulfilling their needs. When certain goals are achieved on the way, many new targets or goals appear making it hard to fulfill certain level of dreams... These dreams always are popped up whenever the opportunity arise. And achieving these will make a human come to a self actualization.

People love running after goals and winning the race. But where exactly are we running in to? Has anybody given thought about it?

Artificial Heart!!

Modern day sciences are doing miracles every day and one might be caught up by surprise. French researchers have now called on to people with an artificial heart which will work just like a normal heart implanted to a human! Even though this is a major breakthrough in curing heart disease, its still heading towards testing under real life situations.

At least 250,000 people from world population die of heart attacks each year even before they reach a hospital. This has become a major threat to uman life in most countries at present. Therefore this invention if suceeds in clinical trials, will re-write the medical history with a bright hope in fighting heart disease in the world.

Race Never Ending..

Some times its really hard to figure out where to start the conversation. Have so much in mind that it takes an effort to gather things together. Life is a busy race. everybody is trying to keep up with the race and try to go forward, reach for rewards as much as you can. All these efforts lead to one thing; betterment of life.

More youth is suffering from unemployment. Even the employed are not satisfied with their jobs. They learn to live the life as it comes.

Cost of living in Sri Lanka is in high rise. A never ending battle to earn enough money to survive the price hike. People are tired of running after each other to grab the better share. More pregnant women starve as they couldn't even afford to have one glass of milk a day. More children starve during the day and wait hungrily for the night meal, which will be a piece of bread or a yam.

The rich become richer and the poor become poorer. Its the rule in the jungle that reigns the humans now; survival of the fittest.

Atitudes...

As a member working for a huge organization of more than 300 Branches island wide, one gets this chance of meeting different varieties of people as well as customs and habits. Lot make friends; some build grudges; still will remember for the rest of their lives.

So far I have been in two places where I have met different people with different attitudes on life. Our organization is a mixture of old and the young which makes it quite interesting to work with. Different geographical areas have different views on friendship. Most old believe they can't make friends with the young. But I must tell you that when you start making friends with others you become more younger in life!!

Attitudes play a major role in the way one sees things happening around him/her. The want to help a beggar, a sick or a child or to perform a deed in life, the attitude one carries have a major impact on the outcome of the deed. A positive attitude will benefit a good deed and will make a whole new difference in what is being done.

Have a positive attitude towards everything you do. It will help to achieve the impossible.

A Daughter's Life

Life of a daughter in an Asian culture is a complex mixture of duty and responsibility filled with emotion and respect. Toddler years are spent in the midst of the beloved mother and father who nurture and nourish for the years to come. All the little little things are learnt and responsibilities are taken with maturing sense of life. Falls in love with sweet little butterflies, sing with the wind... oh what a wonderful life...

Life goes on. Youth arrive with that small pink babies grow up to be young pretty ladies ready to conquer the horizon. Those watchful eyes seek the sight of a young powerful man who resembles the beloved father's ways.. fall in love and enter matrimony and live a blessed life.

Has anybody wondered how painful it is for a daughter to leave her father's home and enter into a new house? Has anybody wondered why the silent tears roll down her cheeks whenever she thinks of her old days? Has anybody wondered how lonely she feels amidst the members of her new family?

Life is full of surprises. A girl is destined to leave her home and build a nest for her own. The lessons learned with her father in the sun, the memories gathered with her mother in the barn and the days she shared with her siblings will be turned into a scrap book; turning its pages one by one will display her life she had just left behind.
